For this group project we redesigned the KPM store at KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens mall, in Berlin).
We started with analysing the target audience of KaDeWe and KPM stores. We also established out main communication goals such as: we are here, we are KPM, we are high quality.
Clear messages had to be sent to the visitors throughout our store design: our products are handmade in Berlin, unique, historical and established.
We decided to organise the collections from the most young and least expensive at the entrance, to the royal collection behind the corner, to give a special privacy to the clients.
At the entrance big and clear are standing out KPM logos, white on blue as the company colours.
Lights integrated in the shelves were designed in a way to create a dramatic effect. Spot lights mounted at the ceiling were used to wash the shelves.
Integrated sitting arrangements, right behind the selling counter, gave the space a comfort zone where to discuss about products and collections while enjoying the open view on KaDeWe.
The modular shelving system gave KPM the possibility to be flexible on the product positions and gain new storage space located on the lowest part.
